Local rock band, Red Currency, recently released their first EP, Nowhere but Here. The band, led by Jordan High School Junior Evan Carlson, is composed of five local high school artists who add a touch of modern to the vintage feel of rock and roll. The EP consists of five originally written songs, each of which bringing something new to the table.

Nowhere but Here has soft rock, pop, and a bluesy sound that is different from a lot of other stuff you hear nowadays.” said Carlson when asked to explain the Nowhere but Here, “We get our inspiration from a lot of places, The Beatles, Neil Young, The Damnwells, Guns n’ Roses, and whole lot of others.”

The EP truly shows the band’s collaboration. The five songs feature three different lead singers, four song writers, and a combination of different genres. Nowhere but Here brings us some much needed variety, and shows us that fresh and quality rock and roll truly isn’t dead.

The EP is available on Apple Music, Spotify, Google Play Music, as well as other online platforms. For information on where to see Red Currency live in concert, follow them on Instagram and Facebook @redcurrencyband.
